Action for £63 on Bill that should have gone Direct Debit

Having been with Scotish Power (formally Manweb) for
over 40 years and paying bills Direct Debit for as long as it has been available,
I have been issued this letter over £63.
Having trouble with Scottish Power over my Business account I decided to Switch
to British Gas. Over the Last couple of months Brish Gas has taken over the account
and set there own Direct Debit up.
Several weeks ago I got my final bill from Scottish Power for the sum of £63.97.
I had not cancelled my direct debit and though this would have been taken, as
usual, and then the account would have been paid.
But Scottish Power decided not to take it via the USAUL Diect Debit and Issued
me with legal Letter, Please See Below.
I have now sent them a Cheque for the full amount and I am Glad I am not dealing
with them anymore.
Scottish
power up to there usual tricks, I Would NOT advise anyone to use there company

After paying this bill above
Scottish Power send me a statement and I am over £200 in credit. So how
did they come to the conclusion that I owed them £64 on the previous bill??
