Begin the morning by saying to thyself, I shall meet with the busy-body, the ungrateful, arrogant, deceitful, envious, unsocial. All these things happen to them by reason of their ignorance of what is good and evil.

very low opinion of Scottish Power
I have a very low opinion of SP. I contacted the company earlier in the year over concerns that I was paying far too much for my gas and electricity. I was more than a little peeved when I discovered that I had accumulated a credit with them of £585. I asked for this to be returned to me and a reduction in the amount that they took each month in direct debit. I was really anoyed when I realised that despite the collosal credit, they had recently increased the direct debit amount.

On the 29th of November I received a letter from them informing me that as of 1st September energy prices had increased. I thought it was unacceptable to have such a long delay before informing me of a price hike so I attempted to call them. After being cut off three times I finally manged to speak to a SP employee. I was thrilled by her offhand manner and not best pleased when she pointed out that it was policy to notify within 90 days. Since they were technically within this ludicrously long period she said that there was nothing that she could do.

What has really pissed me off was that I found that I was £270 in credit with these leaches. I just could not comprehend how this had happened. I was then transfered to a more senior employee who told me that the credit was £240. I was begining to think that they just dream up these figurures. Apparently I was £825 in credit earlier in the year and they had only just noticed. He told me that there had been a bad meter reading made by them in 2007. If I hadn’t contacted them I’m sure that they would not have notified me of the excessive credit. It would appear that these people cannot be trusted. I don’t believe that this is simple incompetence. All the errors resulted in them either gathering more money or holding onto money that they had no right to. This is quite simply sharp practice and I believe that it is corporate policy to rook their customers. Be very careful with these people the don’t play nicely!
