Begin the morning by saying to thyself, I shall meet with the busy-body, the ungrateful, arrogant, deceitful, envious, unsocial. All these things happen to them by reason of their ignorance of what is good and evil.

Scottish Power - a company that I seriously cannot trust
If I could rate this review in under 150 words I would, of the companies that I have dealt with they are by far the worst, and make no apology for errors that they have made.

I have dealt with them twice once with my ex-wife and now (or we hope were dealing with them). My previous experience was with a sales rep who made such a good impression she had to visit a second time, but despite her brilliant sales pitch the bill side was anything but brilliant, in fact it was pathetic and although paying by direct debit they had no idea what they were charging us. This continued and they constantly messed around with our direct debits with massive outstanding payments appearing that suddenly had to be adjusted for on our next payment - which was impossible. We eventually cancelled and went back to our previous supplier British Gas.

After moving house in February this year I found yet again that our supplier was Scottish Power, but we left any decisions until we’d been here a little while, but estimated monthly electricity bills of £4 and gas of £20 didn’t bode well. We did however pay about 4 times this amount for electricity and a modest increase on the gas, but using the comparison web sites it was clear that we were in one of the worst pricing bands on the market, so we asked to change supplier. In addition, whilst others have reasonable additional charges for credit card users I was shocked to find theirs was 5%. You’ve guessed I didn’t use the facility!

Companies offering dual fuel discounts are not quite as good as they look, and Scottish Power is no exception, particularly as they set the payments and how your payment is set. Why should we have to manually adjust our accounts when they are the ones managing them - why should we say can you transfer £50 from one to offset a debit in the other? To me that’s their look out not mine.

Days before we were due to move suppliers Scottish Power sent round their reps - we’re the main supplier in the area and we have the cheapest rate around - what absolute utter crap! A few days later we received what was supposedly a final bill for electricity of around £100, but we also had a second bill showing a credit balance of £77 for gas. So, as most would expect they would combine the 2 and send us a final overall bill, hell they did, and after a number of weeks, and on the day we returned from holiday we received a letter saying that it was going to court, despite constant phone calls to their accounts office. We had no problems paying the balance of £23, but why should we pay the £100 for their mistakes and then have to wait weeks for a cheque?

We have been home nearly 2 weeks since our holiday and still no sign of our cheque, and we still can’t be certain that the transfer even happened.

They are the most disgusting utility provider I have ever dealt with and I would recommend anyone that is currently a customer to transfer now!

My only recommendation would be for the government to revoke their licence. Yet again, I cannot give them a 0 star rating which is what they deserve.
